TOWN OF BLAINE
MEETING MINUTES

Wednesday, July 12, 2023

Supervisor Josh Fornengo called the July 12, 2023 monthly board meeting to order at 7:20 p.m. 

Present were Supervisor Josh Fornengo, Supervisor Bryan Holter, Treasurer Mona Velebir, Clerk Charla Zaccardi, Ron Gallagher, Dan Sear, Matt Holter, Bill Fish and Jason Walters.

Pledge of Allegiance

Clerk’s Report:  Supervisor Josh Fornengo made a motion to approve the June 14, 2023 monthly Board Meeting Minutes as submitted. Supervisor Bryan Holter seconded. Motion approved.

Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer Mona Velebir reported on bank balances.

Expenses:  Supervisor Josh Fornengo made a motion to approve payment of monthly expenditures as submitted. Supervisor Bryan Holter seconded the motion. Motion approved.

Citizen’s Input: It was mentioned that parking on both sides of the road at McGraw Lake Tavern is happening again. This is a safety issue for ambulance and fire services. The state law regarding parking a certain number of feet from a state highway intersection was discussed.

Chairman’s Report: None

OLD BUSINESS:

Road Equipment Update:  Ron Gallagher reported that the mower is working good.

Road Condition Report: Ron Gallagher reported that the roads were looking good. A discussion about the corner of S. Markville Road was had. Permission will be sought for rock to be brought in.

Fire Report: No report.

Northland Community Center:

- Woodland Wesleyan Church Community Vacation Bible School

August 6th-11th from 5-8 pm. VBS Program, Friday 6 pm.

- Saturday, September 9, 2023 Holmstrom Family

- Saturday, October 14, 2023 DOVR dinner/fundraising event

The NCC window replacement has been ordered.

Waste & Recycle Transfer Station: HOURS: 4 PM to 7PM Wednesday evenings, and 11 AM to 3 PM Sunday’s.

Please take note of the “open” hours as the recycle bins are locked during unopened times.

NEW BUSINESS:

1. NCC gym floor update – tabled until August 2023

2. Employee review process – tabled until August 2023

ITEMS TO BE PLACED ON THE AUGUST AGENDA:

Agenda items due Friday before each meeting.

Supervisor Josh Fornengo made a motion to adjourn at 7:45 pm. Supervisor Bryan Holter seconded. Motion passed.  Meeting was adjourned.
