Namekagon Barrens Wildlife Area

The Namekagon Barrens Wildlife Area is located in eastern half of the Town of Blaine and comprises about 9 square miles or 25% of East Blaine. The open landscapes are home to a rich diversity of woldlife and are covered by numerous species of plant life as well. The total barrens habitat in Wisconson at one time covered five million acres, but today has been reduced to only 50,000 acres. We are fortunate to have about 5,760 acres, or almost 12% of the total right here in the Town of Blaine. For more information and great photos of the Barrens, go to: www.fnbwa.org
