PRESENTATION OF 2025 ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT: Mike Metcalf reviewed the 2025 budget summary and updated electors on the status of grants applied for on behalf of the town. He thanked Kevin Tidemand for his assistance in preparing the applications. Mike also reviewed projects completed last year, including the revising of budget preparations, receiving our long-anticipated FEMA loan, updating our inventory of road equipment, consolidating the town’s debt, approving a wake-enhancement restriction ordinance, and more. Mike Metcalf also thanked the town board members for their hard work during a busy year of transition in 2025.
SETTING OF DATE FOR 2027 ANNUAL ELECTORS MEETING: Billy Fish motioned to set the date and time for the 2027 annual electors meeting for Wednesday, April 14th, 2027 at 6:00 p.m. and to be held at Blaine Town Hall/Northland Community Center. Dan Sear seconded. Motion approved.
ELECTORS’ INPUT & DISCUSSION OF TOWN MATTERS:
1) Vern Drake had requested a historic sign be put up near Namekagon Trail over 9 years ago at an annual electors meeting. The sign will now be arriving soon and ready for posting, so he’ll be holding a celebration for it on July 18th. He also submitted a copy of a town comprehensive plan from 2005 that may need to be updated at some point in the future.
2) Ron Gallagher brought to attention the matter of the aging structure of the town garage. A discussion took place regarding its current status, including recent inspections, property lines, and prospective future construction sites.
ADJOURNMENT: Billy Fish motioned to adjourn at 6:40 p.m. Dan Sear seconded. Motion approved. Meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
