MEETING MINUTES

Wednesday, July 10, 2024

 

Chairman Jessica Estridge called the July 10, 2024 monthly board meeting to order at 7:06 pm.

Present were Chairman Jessica Estridge, Supervisor Josh Fornengo, Supervisor Bryan Holter, Treasurer Mona Velebir, Clerk Charla Zaccardi, Ron and Sandy Gallagher, Dan and Nicole Sear, Ryan Brennan, Matt Holter and Dori Willett.

Pledge of Allegiance

Clerk’s Report:  Supervisor Josh Fornengo made a motion to approve the June 12, 2024 monthly board meeting minutes as submitted. Chairman Jessica Estridge seconded. Motion approved.

Supervisor Josh Fornengo made a motion to approve the June 26, 2024 Special board meeting minutes as submitted. Chairman Jessica Estridge seconded. Motion approved.

Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer Mona Velebir reported on bank balances for Bremer Bank and Community Bank of Cameron.

Expenses:  Expenditures were reviewed by the board.  Supervisor Josh Fornengo made a motion to approve expenditures. Supervisor, Bryan Holter seconded the motion. Motion approved.

Citizen’s Input: Ryan Brennan brought attention to the board that political signs were gone missing from private property. Measures were taken and it was reported to the sherriff’s department. There are steep fines for this type of crime. Thank you for the awareness of this.

Chairman’s Report: 1) Chairman Jessica Estridge recapped the awarenss of stolen political signs. In any case, the sherffif’s department is the way to take care of this.

 

2) An informational flyer for Blueberry in the Barrens being held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 was shared.

OLD BUSINESS:

Road Equipment Report: Ron Gallagher reported the equipment is good.

Road Condition Report: Roads were graded and are good. It was reported that after the holiday weekend the roads are good.

Mr. Dygs, owner of the Perkin’s gravel pit, called regarding an upcoming meeting at the county regarding gravel pits. A board member will contact him with more information about this meeting.

UTV/ATV – The board will find out about the gravel pit before making any decisions on what type of solutions are to be had. A discussion continuted about roads and signs. The town is looking at replacing about 20 signs. A culvert size by Dog Town Road was discussed.

Fire Report: None.

Northland Community Center:

Sunday, August 4-8 – Community Vacation Bible School

Tuesday, August 13, 2024 Partaisan Primary Election

Saturyday, September 28, 2024 – bridal shower

 

Waste & Recycle Transfer Station: HOURS: 4 PM to 7PM Wednesday evenings, and 11 AM to 3 PM Sunday’s.

It was reported that it had been very busy around the 4th of July at the waste and recylcing station.

NEW BUSINESS

1) Chairman Jessica Estridge moved to approve a firework permit for Hillside Inn for Saturday, August 17, 2024 with the condition weather permitting. That being the Town and/or Fire Chief has the ability to pull the permit if needed due to fire danger.  Supervisor, Josh Fornengo seconded. Motion approved.

 

2) Treasurer Mona Velebir mentioned that a noitice will be going out in August for an upcoming property tax increase. This notice will include a garbage and Tax Levy increase.

Supervisor Josh Fornengo made a motion to adjourn at 7:39 pm. Chairman Jessica Estridge seconded. Motion passed.  Meeting was adjourned.
