MEETING MINUTES

Wednesday, May 8, 2024

 

Chairman Jessica Estridge called the May 8, 2024 monthly board meeting to order at 7:10 pm.

Present were Chairman Jessica Estridge, Supervisor Josh Fornengo, Supervisor Bryan Holter (via telephone), Treasurer Mona Velebir, Clerk Charla Zaccardi, Ron Gallagher, Dan Sear, Ryan Brennan, Matt Holter, Bill Fish, Dale Anderson and Tanya Maroney.

Pledge of Allegiance

Clerk’s Report:  Supervisor Josh Fornengo made a motion to approve the April 17, 2024 monthly board meeting minutes as submitted. Supervisor, Bryan Holter seconded. Motion approved.

Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer Mona Velebir reported on bank balances for Bremer Bank and Community Bank of Cameron.

Expenses:  Expenditures were reviewed by the board.  Chairman Jessica Estridge requested a motion to approve expenditures, Supervisor Josh Fornengo made a motion to approve payment of monthly expenditures as submitted. Supervisor Bryan Holter seconded the motion. Motion approved.

Citizen’s Input: None.

Chairman’s Report: The new fire truck is outside tonight to look at.

OLD BUSINESS:

Road Equipment Report: Ron Gallagher reported the equipment is good.

Road Condition Report: Roads are in pretty good shape right now. They are putting out gravel on Perkins and St. Croix Trail up to the bridge. Pothole fill will start soon.

Fire Report: The new truck is working good.

Northland Community Center:

OPEN BOOK: Set for Wednesday, May 15th, 2024 from 5pm-7pm

BOR: Set for Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024 from 5pm-7pm

 

Waste & Recycle Transfer Station: HOURS: 4 PM to 7PM Wednesday evenings, and 11 AM to 3 PM Sunday’s.

Clerk Charla Zaccardi will contact Raska for service on the portable toilets at the WARTS and the boat landing.

NEW BUSINESS

1) Cemetery Association appointment. While developing the cemetery, it was found that the cemetery deed is in the Hillcrest Cemetery Association’s name and not the Town’s. The Town needs to change this deed. Eckberg Lammers, P.C., Nick Vivian, Attorney will be retained for legal services in order to make this change. Supervisor Josh Fornengo motioned to retain Attorney Nick Vivian to provide Legal Services on an as-needed basis to support the Town’s legal needs. Supervisor Bryan Holter seconded the motion. Motion approved.

2) Matt Holter submitted a bid to mow the NCC for the 2024 season at $100 per occurrence. Larry Kern submitted a bid to mow Hillcrest Cemetery for the 2024 season at $300 per occurrence. Supervisor Josh Fornengo made a motion to accept these mowing bids as submitted, Supervisor Bryan Holter seconded the motion. Motion approved.

ITEMS TO BE PLACED ON THE JUNE AGENDA

- Liquor Licenses

Supervisor Josh Fornengo made a motion to adjourn at 7:30 pm. Supervisor Bryan Holter seconded. Motion passed.  Meeting was adjourned.
