TOWN OF BLAINE
MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday, October 11, 2023
Chairman Jessica Estridge called the October 11, 2023 monthly board meeting to order at 7:07 p.m.
Present were Chairman Jessica Estridge, Supervisor Josh Fornengo, Supervisor Bryan Holter (via telephone), Treasurer Mona Velebir, Clerk Charla Zaccardi, Ron and Sandy Gallagher, Jason Walters and Bill Fish.
Pledge of Allegiance
Clerk’s Report: Supervisor Josh Fornengo made a motion to approve the September 13, 2023 monthly board meeting minutes as submitted. Chairman Jessica Estridge seconded. Motion approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer Mona Velebir reported on bank balances for Bremer Bank and Community Bank of Cameron.
Expenses: Supervisor Josh Fornengo made a motion to approve payment of monthly expenditures as submitted. Chairman Jessica Estridge seconded the motion. Motion approved.
Citizen’s Input: None
Chairman’s Report: Chairman Jessica Estridge reported that Larry Kern will be taking down a tree and stumps in Hillcrest Cemetery. The estimated cost is $1,330.00.
OLD BUSINESS:
Road Equipment Update: The mower is repaired and running. A discussion took place about what equipment needs replacing first, the plow dump truck, loader or mower. Supervisor Josh Fornengo will get pricing on a plow dump truck.
Road Condition Report: Ron Gallagher reported that the roads are good, but they are working on finishing the brushing. Montgomery Road has been graded and mowed. Ron Gallagher will double check road signs that will need replacing before winter.
Fire Report: Chief Bill Fish reported the pump truck was recently re-certified and inspections have been done. He mentioned the department has been busy with numerous calls recently.
Northland Community Center: - Saturday, October 14, 2023 DOVR dinner/fundraising event
Fire extinguishers will be serviced in all town buildings and equipment soon.
Waste & Recycle Transfer Station: HOURS: 4 PM to 7PM Wednesday evenings, and 11 AM to 3 PM Sunday’s.
Chairman Jessica Estridge handed out the Town of Blaine – Lead Road Worker Job Description and asked Ron Gallagher and Jason Walters to look it over and get back to her with any corrections and/or additions. Job descriptions will be reviewed, revised and kept on file for appointed employees of the Town of Blaine.
NEW BUSINESS
ITEMS TO BE PLACED ON THE NOVEMBER AGENDA:
- Budget hearing to be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, 6 PM at Northland Community Center
Agenda items due Friday before each meeting.
Supervisor Josh Fornengo made a motion to adjourn at 7:50 pm. Supervisor Bryan Holter seconded. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned.
